WoW Forever Launch Day Checklist — Before You Log In on Nov 4
World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) goes live globally on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST. This checklist covers what you can do before then: confirming you can actually log in, deciding whether early name reservation is worth it, and what the September beta suggests about the first night. Everything marked as Blizzard-confirmed comes from Blizzard's own announcement; beta observations are labelled as such.
Launch is November 4, 2026, 3:00 p.m. PST. You need an active WoW Subscription or Game Time — no purchase is required to play. Early name reservation (up to three characters, October 27–November 3) is only included with an upgrade pack; beta access alone does not qualify.
01The Short Checklist
- Confirm access: an active World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time on your Battle.net account.
- Decide on an upgrade pack — only if you want early name reservation, the Skyborne race or the cosmetics.
- If you bought a pack, use Early Name Reservation between October 27 and November 3 (PST).
- Convert 3:00 p.m. PST on November 4 to your local time and plan the evening.
- Redeem any Invite-A-Friend codes through Battle.net and send them to friends.
- Expect a busy first night and keep the plan flexible (see the beta notes below).
02Access: What You Actually Need
Blizzard states that access is included with a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time. You do not need to buy an upgrade pack to play Forever.
The Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection add 30 days of Game Time starting November 4; after that period you need a Subscription or separately purchased Game Time.
Beta access is not a way in at launch: the beta ran September 17 to October 21, 2026 (PST), and beta progress does not carry over. For what the beta covered, see the beta guide.
03Upgrade Packs: Which Ones Matter for Day One
The three packs are the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection (limited-time, available through January 11, 2027). All three include Early Name Reservation; the Epic Pack and Collection add beta access and 30 days of Game Time.
The Skyborne race comes with the packs. If you are weighing it, read the Skyborne race guide first. Race and class limits are in the race-class combinations tool.
04Early Name Reservation (Oct 27 – Nov 3)
Per Blizzard, Early Name Reservation runs October 27 through November 3, 2026 (PST) and comes with any upgrade purchase. During that window you can create and customize up to three characters.
Names are first-come, first-served and Blizzard says a desired name cannot be guaranteed. Blizzard Watch reports that the game is realmless, so a name must be unique across the whole region, and that characters have a first and a second name.
A beta invitation alone does not qualify. If you did not buy a pack, you pick your name on launch day like everyone else — have two or three backups ready.
05Invite-A-Friend Codes
Blizzard says codes are emailed starting October 20, 2026 (PST). Friends redeem them through Battle.net and can play during launch week (November 4–11, 2026) without a Subscription or Game Time. These codes do not include beta access.
The Heroic Pack includes one code; the Epic Pack and Collection include three.
06What the Beta Suggests About the First Night
This is beta experience, not a launch forecast. On the beta's first day (September 17), Gameluster and other outlets reported login queues climbing into the tens of thousands, players disconnecting at the front of the queue and being sent back to the end of the line, and heavy lag once in. Blizzard's Tom Ellis later attributed the disconnects to Battle.net's protective metering system and said the beta database was responding slowly to queries; players outside North America reported the worst latency.
Practical takeaways: log in early rather than at the last minute, do not assume the first attempt works, and avoid spending launch night on anything time-critical. If a purchased option does not appear, check Your Game Accounts on the Battle.net website and restart the launcher; Blizzard's own support guidance says shop purchases can take up to 24 hours to process, so wait before assuming something went wrong. Only trust license pages on your own account, not download links in emails.
