01Beta Dates (for the Record)

Blizzard announced WoW: Forever at BlizzCon 2026 on September 12, 2026 and opened its public beta five days later, on September 17. The beta closed for good at 10:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, October 23, 2026, after a final stress test on October 21.

The beta never went past a level cap in the 20s-30s, so it only covered the Skyborne starting zone, the Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron dungeons, and early leveling content — not the raids, higher-level zones or endgame systems that shipped at launch.

02Nothing Carried Over

Beta characters, levels, gold, items and reserved names all stayed in the beta. Everyone — including beta testers — started a brand-new character when WoW: Forever launched on November 4, 2026. The beta's value was catching bugs and balance issues before launch, not a head start.

03The Game Is Live — Start Here

World of Warcraft: Forever launched worldwide on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC), included with an active WoW Subscription or Game Time. If you're arriving after the beta, these guides cover the live game:
