Quick answers

What is the difference between Grace and Leon's gameplay in Resident Evil Requiem?

Grace Ashcroft plays as a survival horror experience — she starts with limited supplies, relies on stealth and inventory management, saves at typewriters with ink ribbons, and must avoid or outsmart enemies rather than engage them head-on. Leon Kennedy's sections shift the tone to action combat: he has access to a wider arsenal of firearms, a briefcase inventory system, melee parries, and fights more conventional boss encounters. The game alternates between both styles as the story progresses, and you can switch between first-person and third-person camera in both.

Who is "the Girl" and how do you deal with her in Resident Evil Requiem?

"The Girl" is an invincible pursuer who stalks Grace throughout the early chapters of the game — mechanically similar to Mr. X in Resident Evil 2. She cannot be defeated through normal means: bullets and attacks do not put her down. The key is to use light against her — she is repelled by functioning overhead bulbs, so memorise where the lit areas are and use them as temporary safe havens. Otherwise, stay crouched, move quietly, and plan escape routes in advance before she corners you.

Does Resident Evil Requiem have a save system like older RE games?

Yes — Grace's sections use the classic ink ribbon and typewriter save system returning from earlier entries in the series. You must find ink ribbons (a limited resource on higher difficulties) and reach a typewriter to manually save. Leon's sections use a more modern auto-save system in line with his action-oriented gameplay. On your first playthrough it is worth saving frequently whenever you find a typewriter during Grace chapters, especially before entering new areas.

What platforms is Resident Evil Requiem available on, and when did it launch?

Resident Evil Requiem launched on February 27, 2026, simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Windows via Steam and other storefronts), and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom built the game on the RE Engine, the same technology powering Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake. There is no current-gen downgrade version — the game targets the current hardware generation exclusively.
