How to Level Up Fast in Palworld

Leveling unlocks Technology Points, higher-tier gear, and the ability to catch stronger Pals — so efficient XP is the backbone of progression in Palworld. The trap many players fall into is grinding kills when catching is far more rewarding. This guide ranks the fastest XP methods for every stage, from your first hours to endgame farming.

01How XP Works in Palworld

You earn XP from four main sources, and understanding their relative value changes how you play:

• Catching Pals — gives more XP than killing the same Pal, and includes powerful first-time and quantity bonuses (detailed below).
• Defeating Pals — modest XP; only worth it when catching is not practical.
• Bosses (Alpha and Tower) — large XP lumps, repeatable on a cooldown.
• Completing tasks and dungeons — quests and dungeon clears give bonus XP alongside loot.

The single biggest mistake is killing Pals you could have caught. Catching is the most XP-efficient activity in the game by a wide margin, so build your leveling around capturing creatures rather than slaughtering them.

02The Catching Bonuses That Multiply Your XP

Catching has two stacking bonuses that make variety and volume hugely rewarding:

• First-catch bonus: the first time you ever catch a given species, you get a large one-time XP and Technology Point bonus. Catching new Pals is therefore far more valuable than re-catching familiar ones.
• Ten-catch bonus: catching ten of the same species grants a bonus and unlocks a permanent stat boost when you use that Pal. Clearing a whole pack of one Pal type is both fast XP and a long-term reward.
• Capture power rating: the Statue of Power upgrade improves catch rates, indirectly speeding XP by making captures more reliable.

Practical routine: when you find a cluster of a new Pal, catch as many as you can — you bank the first-catch bonus immediately and make progress toward the ten-catch bonus at the same time.

03Best Early-Game Leveling (Levels 1–20)

Early on, breadth beats grinding. Focus on filling the Paldeck and catching in volume:

1. Catch every new species you encounter — the first-catch bonus is the best early XP in the game.
2. Clear packs of common Pals (e.g. Lamballs, Cattiva, Chikipi) by catching, not killing, to chase ten-catch bonuses.
3. Fight your first Alpha (such as Chillet near the Bamboo Grove) once you are within a few levels — big XP and a strong base Pal.
4. Complete the early base tasks shown in the Palbox for steady bonus XP.
5. Take on Tower 1 (Zoe & Grizzbolt) around level 15 for a large XP lump and story progress.

Keep a stock of spheres at all times — running out mid-cluster means killing Pals you should have caught and leaving XP on the table.

04Best Late-Game Leveling (Level 20+)

Once Pals get tougher, shift toward repeatable high-density XP:

• Alpha Pal farming: Alphas respawn after roughly 15 minutes and give big XP — run a circuit of several Alphas you can reliably beat and loop it.
• Dungeon runs: dungeons are packed with Pals to catch and bosses to defeat, plus chest loot and schematics; clear, leave, and re-enter for a fresh layout.
• Catch high-level new species: first-catch bonuses scale, so catching strong Pals in tougher biomes gives more XP than catching weak ones.
• Tower bosses: each tower you clear is a large XP and Technology Point injection — push them as your gear allows.

Pair leveling with purpose — an Alpha circuit also stocks your base with strong Pals, and dungeon runs hand you schematics and materials while you grind XP.

Palworld 1.0 (July 2026) raised the level cap from 65 to 80 and added the Sunreach and World Tree regions as new late-game content. The nine tower bosses — four more than the original five — are the biggest XP injections in the expanded game; work through them in order as you push toward 80.

05Faster XP with Server Settings and Base Setup

Some of the biggest multipliers come from setup rather than grinding:

• ExpRate (private servers / world settings): raising the experience multiplier in your world settings or on a dedicated server directly accelerates all XP — the simplest speed boost if you control the server.
• Lucky Pals and lucky catches: sparkling Lucky Pals have boosted stats; catching them contributes to your roster while you level.
• Efficient base: a self-running base means you spend your active time catching and fighting for XP instead of gathering — automation indirectly speeds leveling.
• Group play: on a co-op or dedicated server, clearing dungeons and bosses with friends speeds the whole loop.
