Quick answers

What is Naraka: Bladepoint?

Naraka: Bladepoint is a free-to-play melee battle royale developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games. Up to 60 players drop onto a map and fight using swords, bows, spears, and other melee and ranged weapons, combined with a grappling hook movement system that lets you scale walls, swing across gaps, and reposition rapidly. The game has a wuxia fantasy aesthetic set in an ancient Chinese mythological world and features a roster of playable heroes, each with unique abilities that complement different combat styles.

Is Naraka: Bladepoint free to play?

Yes. Naraka: Bladepoint became free to play in October 2022 on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) after initially launching as a paid game in August 2021. The Xbox and PlayStation versions are also free to play. Revenue comes from cosmetic items, seasonal battle passes, and hero unlock bundles — core gameplay is not paywalled.

What makes Naraka: Bladepoint different from other battle royales?

The primary difference is the focus on close-quarters melee combat rather than guns. Fights revolve around a rock-paper-scissors counter system: normal attacks can be parried, parries can be broken by charge attacks, and charge attacks can be avoided with well-timed dodge rolls. Combined with a grappling hook that attaches to any surface and lets you wall-run and swing, movement and positioning become as important as weapon skill. Ranged weapons exist but serve a secondary role — most engagements are decided at sword range.

How many players are in a Naraka: Bladepoint match?

A standard match supports up to 60 players. Modes include Solo (every player for themselves), Duo (two-player teams), and Trio (three-player teams). The map shrinks over time via a Bloodbath Zone mechanic that forces encounters as the match progresses.

What are glyphs in Naraka: Bladepoint?

Glyphs are passive talent upgrades that persist across all matches — essentially a permanent character build you configure outside the game. They are split into four colour-coded categories (Origin/red, Lunar/purple, Solar/blue, and Omni/green) and are unlocked and upgraded using Tae, a currency earned through playing. The talent menu unlocks at account level 6 and gains more slots as your account level increases.
