Naraka: Bladepoint Glyph System How the Talent Tree Works
The glyph system in Naraka: Bladepoint is a permanent talent tree you configure between matches. Unlike Souljades, which you find on the map, glyphs stay equipped across every game and provide baseline passive bonuses to stamina, damage, skill cooldown, and more. Getting your glyph build right is one of the highest-value things you can do away from actual matches — it is effectively free power once unlocked.
01What Are Glyphs?
Glyphs are passive upgrades that apply to your character in every match. They sit outside the match economy — you cannot find better glyphs on the map or lose them when you die. They are configured in the Talents menu, which unlocks once your account reaches level 6.
Each glyph slot offers five possible upgrades to choose from, and you pick one per slot. As your account level increases, more glyph slots unlock. Within each slot, upgrades start at level 1 and can be levelled up by spending Tae (the in-game currency earned through playing), increasing the magnitude of the stat bonus.
The system was updated in 2025 with four new branches — Swift, Attack, Survival, and Strategy — each emphasising a different playstyle. This gives the glyph tree more meaningful build differentiation than earlier versions of the system.
02The Four Glyph Categories
Glyphs are colour-coded into four categories, each governing a different area of passive stats:
- Origin glyphs (red): Control combat aggression — Rage generation (which fuels your ultimate) and stamina recovery both live in this category. This is your 'tempo' branch — red glyphs affect how fast you can fight at full intensity.
- Lunar glyphs (purple): Control dodge stamina costs and skill cooldowns. This is generally the first place to look for an upgrade that shortens your hero's most important skill cooldown or cheapens dodging — for heroes whose kit revolves around one skill (Matari's teleport, for example), Lunar is a high-priority category.
- Solar glyphs (blue): Also touch skill cooldown and movement-related passives, so it's common to pair a Solar cooldown upgrade with a Lunar one for maximum skill uptime. Movement-speed upgrades tied to the newer Swift branch (added in the 2025 rework) sit here too.
- Omni glyphs (green): Provide broad utility across multiple stats — stamina capacity, minor damage reduction, and passive Rage gain. Useful as flexible fill-in slots once your core build from the other three categories is set.
Each category has a fixed number of slots available, and all four must be considered as a system — you cannot simply stack one category to the exclusion of others because the total number of slots limits how much you can invest in any single area. Exact upgrade names and numbers shift between balance patches (the glyph tree was reorganised into four branches — Swift, Attack, Survival, and Strategy — in an October 2025 update), so check the in-game tooltip for the current wording rather than relying on names from an old guide.
03How to Unlock and Upgrade Glyphs
New glyph slots unlock automatically as your account level increases — you do not need to buy them. What requires currency is unlocking the upgrade options within each slot and levelling them up:
- Open the Talents menu (unlocks at account level 6).
- In each slot, two of the five upgrade options are available by default. The other three are locked.
- Click a locked upgrade to unlock it using Tae — the cost is modest for lower-level unlocks and increases as you approach maximum.
- Once an upgrade is chosen for a slot, level it up by spending additional Tae. Higher levels provide stronger bonuses but cost progressively more Tae.
- You can switch your selected upgrade within a slot at any time, though some sources report a minor Tae fee to reset. Swapping entire glyph pages (see below) is free.
Tae is earned passively by playing matches, completing daily missions, and participating in seasonal events. It accumulates steadily — you do not need to purchase it. Prioritise unlocking and levelling the upgrades in your chosen build before spreading Tae across everything.
04Glyph Pages: Customising Per Hero or Mode
By default, everyone shares a single glyph page that applies to all heroes. Two additional customisable pages can be unlocked separately using Tae or Gold currency.
Once you have multiple pages, you can assign a specific page to each hero (or hero group) for automatic switching when you select that hero before a match. This lets you maintain:
- A stamina-focused page for aggressive Solo play (dodging frequently).
- A Rage-focused page for Trio play (ultimate available more often for team fights).
- A hero-specific page for high-skill heroes like Matari or Justina Gu that have specific cooldown requirements.
Two extra pages is enough for most players. The third page (if you unlock it) is useful only if you regularly play heroes with significantly different glyph needs.
05Best Glyph Builds
The right glyph build depends on your mode (Solo vs Trio) and your hero. Rather than naming specific upgrades — exact names and numbers have shifted more than once, most recently in the October 2025 branch rework, so always confirm against the current in-game tooltip — here are three proven archetypes by stat priority:
Build 1 — Full Stamina (Solo/Duo, stamina-dependent heroes): Prioritise dodge-cost-reduction and stamina-recovery upgrades across Origin, Lunar, and Omni. This build maximises how many dodge rolls you have available and how quickly stamina refills after using them. Recommended for Solo play where your survive-alone ability is the bottleneck.
Build 2 — Stamina/Rage Hybrid (Trio, most heroes): Mix a Rage-generation upgrade from Origin with a skill-cooldown-reduction upgrade from Lunar or Solar, and keep one stamina-recovery upgrade for safety. Raising Rage generation gets your ultimate available more often — valuable because team ultimates (like Cyra's healing or Matari's Group Stealth) matter more in Trio than Solo.
Build 3 — Full Cooldown (heroes with cooldown-dependent skills, e.g. Matari): Stack whichever skill-cooldown-reduction upgrades are currently available in Lunar and Solar, and fill remaining slots with stamina-recovery upgrades from Origin or Omni. The goal is maximum Silent Flutter (or equivalent) frequency — every extra use of a defining skill is direct value.
06Common Mistakes with Glyphs
- Leaving glyphs at level 1. Unlocking an upgrade is step one; levelling it up provides meaningful additional bonus. Spend Tae on levelling your chosen build before unlocking alternatives you are unlikely to use.
- Ignoring Lunar (purple) glyphs. The cooldown- and dodge-cost-reduction upgrades in this category are some of the most impactful in the system for active heroes. New players sometimes skip purple glyphs because they are less immediately obvious than damage boosts.
- Using the same page for all modes. A pure stamina build helps enormously in Solo but sacrifices ultimate frequency that matters more in Trio. Set up a second page once you regularly play both modes.
- Splitting Tae across all four categories equally at the start. Focus on fully upgrading one or two key upgrades before spreading investment. Partial levels on many glyphs are weaker than maxed levels on a few core ones.
FAQ
What are glyphs in Naraka: Bladepoint?
Glyphs are permanent passive upgrades in Naraka: Bladepoint that apply across all your matches. Configured in the Talents menu, they provide bonuses to stamina, skill cooldown, Rage generation, and other stats. They are split into four colour-coded categories — Origin (red), Lunar (purple), Solar (blue), and Omni (green) — and are unlocked and upgraded using Tae, a currency earned through playing.
How do I unlock glyphs in Naraka: Bladepoint?
The Talents menu (where you manage glyphs) unlocks at account level 6. New glyph slots open automatically as your account level increases. Within each slot, two upgrade options are available by default — click locked options to unlock them using Tae. After choosing an upgrade for a slot, spend more Tae to level it up for stronger bonuses.
What is Tae in Naraka: Bladepoint?
Tae is the primary free-to-earn currency in Naraka: Bladepoint. It is used to unlock and upgrade glyphs, unlock additional glyph pages, and purchase certain items. Tae is earned by playing matches, completing daily missions, and participating in events — it does not need to be purchased. Spending Tae on your core glyph build is one of the highest-value uses of the currency.
What are the best glyphs for Matari in Naraka: Bladepoint?
For Matari, prioritise whichever Lunar (purple) and Solar (blue) upgrades currently reduce skill cooldown — Silent Flutter's uptime is her most impactful stat. Fill remaining slots with an Omni (green) stamina-recovery upgrade. If you want faster ultimate availability instead, swap one stamina slot for an Origin (red) Rage-generation upgrade. Exact upgrade names have changed with past balance patches, so confirm against the current in-game tooltip before committing Tae.
What is the difference between the four glyph categories?
Origin glyphs (red) control Rage generation and stamina recovery. Lunar glyphs (purple) primarily cover skill-cooldown reduction and dodge stamina cost. Solar glyphs (blue) also affect cooldown reduction and movement. Omni glyphs (green) provide mixed bonuses across stamina, Rage, and minor damage reduction. Most builds focus on one or two key upgrades from each category rather than specialising in one colour — and the specific upgrade names have shifted with past reworks, so check current tooltips rather than an old build guide.
Should I use different glyphs for Solo and Trio?
Yes, ideally. Solo rewards stamina-focused builds (more dodge rolls, faster recovery) because you fight alone and survivability depends on your individual counter performance. Trio benefits from Rage-focused builds because team ultimates are more valuable and worth having available more often. Unlock a second glyph page and assign one page to Solo, one to Trio for maximum effectiveness.
