Every Genshin Impact version runs on a predictable two-phase banner rotation, but keeping track of exactly which characters are up and when the next phase switches over is the part most players struggle with. This guide covers how the rotation actually works, the full 6.7 schedule with exact dates, and what's confirmed for version 7.0 — pair it with our pity system guide if you're deciding when to actually spend your Primogems.

01How the Banner Rotation Works

Each numbered version (6.6, 6.7, 7.0, and so on) is split into two roughly three-week phases, with a new set of banners going live when the version switches phase partway through:

• Phase 1 runs from the version's launch day for about three weeks. It typically features the version's headline new character alongside a rerun of a popular existing 5-star.
• Phase 2 takes over for the second half of the version, usually running a second new character (if the version has one) plus another rerun, before the next version's Phase 1 begins.
• The Weapon Banner (Epitomized Path) runs alongside whichever character banners are currently live, letting you target a specific 5-star weapon.

Because every version follows this same two-phase shape, the fastest way to know when a rerun or new character is coming is to know which phase of which version you're currently in, not to memorize specific dates months out.

02Current Schedule: Version 6.7 (Luna VIII)

Version 6.7 runs from July 1 to August 11, 2026, split into two phases:

• Phase 1 (July 1 – July 21, 2026): Sandrone, a new 5-star Cryo Claymore user, debuts alongside Citlali (5-star Cryo Catalyst) on rerun. Sandrone is the first "Stellar Linchpin" character — with her in the party, Cryo + Electro triggers the enhanced Stellar-Conduct reaction instead of regular Superconduct, boosting Cryo/Electro damage and shredding enemy Physical resistance.
• Phase 2 (July 21 – August 11, 2026): Raiden Shogun (5-star Electro Polearm) returns on rerun alongside Columbina (5-star Hydro Catalyst), also on rerun.
• The version's Weapon Banner runs the signature weapons for whichever characters are currently featured in each phase.

03Confirmed Next: Version 7.0 Banner Schedule

Version 7.0 ("Everwinter Without Mercy") is confirmed to launch August 12, 2026 — HoYoverse first revealed the date via a redemption code shown during an April 2026 livestream, then locked in the full banner lineup during the "Version 7.0 Special Program" broadcast on July 31, 2026.

7.0 opens Snezhnaya, the home nation of the Tsaritsa and the Fatui and the last of Teyvat's seven nations to be added. It introduces a new Cryo Traveler form and a new combat system called Stellar Reactions, built around new playable characters Odette and Alyosha:

• Phase 1 (August 12 – September 1, 2026): Odette (new 5-star Cryo Sword, an off-field sub-DPS whose Stellar-Conduct/Stellar-Swirl kit converts a team's existing Superconduct or Cryo Swirl reactions into their Stellar counterparts) debuts alongside a rerun of Arlecchino (5-star Pyro Polearm). Alyosha, the new free 4-star Electro Polearm character, is the shared rate-up 4-star on both Phase 1 banners.
• Phase 2 (September 1 – September 22, 2026): Reruns of Flins (5-star) and Ineffa (5-star).

As with every version, the Weapon Banner runs the signature weapons for whichever characters are currently featured in each phase.

04Recently Ended: Version 6.6

For context on what just rotated out, version 6.6 (Luna VII) introduced the Hexerei character set — three new playable characters built around a shared team-synergy mechanic: Nicole (5-star Pyro Catalyst, a shielding ATK-buff support), Lohen (5-star Cryo Polearm, an on-field Cryo DPS built around a dual Joy/Will-to-Win resource system), and Prune (4-star Anemo Catalyst support). If you missed their debut banners, expect a rerun in a future version rather than an extended availability window — HoYoverse doesn't keep banners running past their scheduled phase.

05How to Actually Use This Schedule

• Check the in-game countdown, not just this guide. The Wish screen shows exact time remaining on the current phase — treat published dates as accurate at time of writing, but the definitive source once you're actually deciding whether to pull.
• Reruns aren't guaranteed on any fixed cycle. HoYoverse doesn't publish a rerun schedule in advance; a character's next rerun could be the very next version or many versions later depending on what the story and content roadmap call for.
• New characters almost always launch in Phase 1 of a version, with a second new character (when there is one) in Phase 2 — if a version's patch notes only announce one new playable character, the version's second phase is usually reruns only.
• Save before a livestream, not after. HoYoverse's pre-version livestreams (roughly two weeks before each version drops) are where upcoming banners get confirmed — that's the reliable moment to decide whether to pull now or save for what's next.
