Free Primogems, Mora, and upgrade materials are just a code away — if you know where to look and how to claim them before they expire. Codes themselves rotate and expire within hours to days, so this guide focuses on what stays true regardless of the date: every redemption method, the Adventure Rank 10 requirement, the most common reasons codes fail, and exactly where to check for whatever's live right now.

01What Are Genshin Impact Codes?

Promotional codes are short alphanumeric strings that HoYoverse releases through official livestreams, social media posts, community milestones, and partnership events. Entering a valid code credits your account with free rewards — typically Primogems, Hero's Wit, Mora, or event-specific consumables — delivered directly to your in-game mailbox.

There are three main categories of codes:

• Livestream codes — three codes released during every pre-patch preview stream (roughly two weeks before each new version). These are the most generous but also the most time-sensitive: they typically expire within 12–24 hours of the stream ending.
• Milestone and event codes — released to celebrate player counts, anniversaries, collaborations, or in-game events. These usually remain valid for several days to a few weeks.
• Permanent codes — a small number of codes (like GENSHINGIFT) are long-lived and offer a fixed reward once per account. Some are refreshed periodically, but you can only redeem each refresh once.

Because livestream codes can expire in under a day, the single most important habit is checking official channels immediately after a new stream or announcement.

02Adventure Rank 10 Requirement

Most codes require your account to be at least Adventure Rank (AR) 10 before redemption is possible. AR 10 takes roughly 1–3 hours of play for a new account — just follow the Archon Quest main story and complete your first few Daily Commissions.

A small number of codes (notably the permanent GENSHINGIFT code and any tied to Prime Gaming drops) can be redeemed from AR 1. When in doubt, try the code; the redemption page will show a clear error message if your rank is too low.

There is no upper-rank restriction — codes remain claimable at any Adventure Rank as long as the code itself is still active. One extra wrinkle: even if a code redeems successfully below AR 10, you need at least AR 2 to actually open your in-game mailbox and collect the reward, so brand-new accounts should clear the very first Archon Quest steps before worrying about codes at all.

03How to Redeem Codes: Two Methods

HoYoverse offers two official paths to redemption. Both deliver rewards to your in-game mailbox within a few minutes.

Method 1 — Official HoYoverse website (fastest):

1. Visit genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/gift (the official redemption page).
2. Log in with your HoYoverse account.
3. Select your server (America, Europe, Asia, or TW/HK/MO) from the dropdown.
4. Your in-game nickname should auto-populate; if not, enter it manually.
5. Paste your code into the redemption field and click Redeem.
6. Open your in-game mailbox to collect the rewards.

Method 2 — In-game menu (PC and Android only):

1. Open the Paimon Menu (tap the Paimon icon top-left, or press Esc on PC).
2. Go to Settings → Account.
3. Tap Redeem Code.
4. Enter the code and press Exchange.
5. Rewards arrive in your mailbox within seconds.

iOS players don't get this option. Apple's App Store policies keep HoYoverse from offering in-game code redemption on iPhone/iPad — if you're on iOS, Method 1 (the website) is your only path, not just the faster one.

On PC and Android, the in-game method is slightly slower to navigate but avoids the need to switch between windows. The website method is quicker if you already have a browser open while watching a livestream, and it's mandatory on iOS.

04Why Codes Fail: Common Error Messages

If a code returns an error instead of rewarding you, one of the following is almost always the cause:

• Code expired — the most common issue. Livestream codes can vanish in under 24 hours. Check the release date before attempting an old code.
• Already redeemed — each code is one-time use per account. You cannot redeem the same code twice, even if it is still active for others.
• Typo or wrong case — codes are case-sensitive. Copy-paste rather than typing manually whenever possible. Watch out for the letter O vs digit 0, or I vs l.
• Wrong server selected — on the website, you must pick the server your account actually plays on. Selecting Europe when your account is on America will fail even with a valid code.
• Adventure Rank too low — see the AR 10 requirement above.
• Region restriction — codes released in China (for the mainland CN server) are not redeemable on global servers, and vice versa. Global codes work across America, Europe, Asia, and TW/HK/MO.

05Where to Find New Codes as They Drop

Because codes expire quickly, knowing where to watch is as important as the codes themselves. The reliable primary sources are:

• Official Genshin Impact livestreams — HoYoverse hosts a preview stream roughly two weeks before each new version (every ~six weeks). Three codes appear on-screen during the stream. Watching live or catching the replay in the first hour is essential.

• HoYoLAB (hoyolab.com) — the official community hub. The Genshin Impact page often pins a "current active codes" post maintained by community moderators.
• Official Genshin Impact website (genshin.hoyoverse.com) — version update pages sometimes include promotional codes in the patch notes.
• Content creator partner events — occasionally, HoYoverse gives unique codes to partner streamers or YouTubers for limited-time giveaways.

Fan aggregator sites (Reddit's r/Genshin_Impact, game8.co, pockettactics.com) compile known-active codes in real time and are a convenient second layer — but they lag behind official sources by minutes to hours during a livestream.

06How Often Are New Codes Released?

Codes arrive on no fixed daily or weekly schedule, but there are predictable windows:

• Every ~six weeks: three livestream codes at the version preview stream. These are the highest-value codes (usually 3 × 100 Primogems).

A list of "today's codes" is stale by the time this page reaches you, whether that's tomorrow or months from now.

What doesn't change is where to look. In order of reliability:

• The official HoYoverse redemption site (genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/gift) will simply reject an expired or invalid code with an error — it's the only place that can't lie to you about whether a code currently works.
• HoYoLAB (hoyolab.com) — the official community hub, where HoYoverse and community moderators post current codes, usually pinned to the top of the Genshin Impact section.
• The official Genshin Impact account on X/Twitter (@GenshinImpact) — posts new codes directly, often within minutes of a livestream or milestone announcement.
• In-game mail and the Notices tab — HoYoverse sometimes distributes the same rewards directly this way, with no code entry needed.
