Pokédollars are tight in Pokémon Legends: Z-A — and for good reason. The Stone Emporium charges 100,000 Pokédollars for each of the two Mega Stones your starter didn't come with, and picking up additional Mega Stones for the rest of your team pushes the total investment higher still. 01Why Pokédollars Run Out Fast

The most immediate money sink in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the Stone Emporium's post-game Mega Stone selection. Both non-starter Mega Stones — for whichever two first partners you didn't choose — cost 100,000 Pokédollars each, adding up to 200,000 total if you want all three starters fully Mega-capable. Mega Stones for non-starter Pokémon like Lucario, Greninja, and Garchomp add further costs on top.

During the story, trainer battles and side missions provide a steady but slow trickle of Pokédollars, and the rewards rarely outpace spending on Poké Balls, restoratives, and gear. Once the post-game opens and the Z-A Royale grind begins in earnest, the three methods below are the fastest ways to close the gap:

• Gold Canari Plush — a permanent 1.5× multiplier on all trainer battle prizes. This is the foundation everything else is built on, and should be your first purchase.
• Jacinthe's tournament rematches — unlocked via Side Mission 119, best single repeatable fight for active grinding.
• Z-A Royale nightly battles — fight trainers at night to earn Medals, converted into Pokédollars (roughly 10,000–100,000 per night depending on how many trainers you defeat).

02Step One: Buy the Gold Canari Plush (1.5× All Trainer Battle Prizes)

The single highest-value purchase you can make for long-term Pokédollar farming is the Gold Canari Plush — a permanent team item that multiplies all prize money from trainer battles by 1.5×. This bonus applies to every trainer battle in the game, including Jacinthe's repeatable rematch and Z-A Royale encounters, so getting it early maximises every other method on this list.

How to get the Gold Canari Plush:

• Where to buy: An NPC standing in front of Racine Construction, in Lumiose City. Exchange Colorful Screws with them for a Canari Plush.
• Currency: Colorful Screws, not Pokédollars. Fully upgrading the Gold Canari Plush requires 16 Colorful Screws total across all tiers.
• Where to get Colorful Screws: Found in purple Poké Balls while scaling the various construction structures around Lumiose City — expect to do some climbing to reach them. They cannot be purchased with Pokédollars.
• Priority: Upgrade this as early as the Racine Construction Company becomes accessible. Every trainer battle without the 1.5× bonus is leaving money on the table.

In practice: a strong Z-A Royale night that would have earned ~100,000 Pokédollars from defeating trainers becomes roughly 150,000 with the multiplier active. A rematch that would have paid a given amount pays 1.5× that instead. The sooner you have it, the more it compounds.

03Jacinthe's Tournament Rematch — Best Repeatable Active Fight

The best single source of repeatable active income is Side Mission 119: 'Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe O.' Completing it for the first time pays out 300,000 Pokédollars and 30 Luxury Balls — the largest single cash reward in the base game — and permanently unlocks rematches against Jacinthe that award Pokédollars and EXP each time you win.

Jacinthe's full team:

• Carbink — Level 73, Rock/Fairy type.

Her team is built around Fairy-type Pokémon, which makes Steel and Poison moves the most effective tools across the majority of her roster. 04Z-A Royale Nightly Battles — Best Passive-Adjacent Grind

The Z-A Royale is not a passive income source — it requires actively fighting trainers at night in the Royale battle area. Each Trainer you defeat earns Prize Medals, and at the end of the night those Medals convert to Pokédollars at a rate of roughly Medals × 10, with an extra multiplier the more trainers you defeat in a single night (reported to scale up to around 1.5×–2× for a large number of wins). Realistically this nets anywhere from about 10,000 to 100,000 Pokédollars per night depending on how many battles you fight.

With the Gold Canari Plush fully upgraded, the 1.5× trainer-battle multiplier stacks on top of the Royale's own defeat-count multiplier, pushing a strong night's haul meaningfully higher. You can also sit on a bench and skip time to nightfall repeatedly, letting you run the Royale grind back-to-back without waiting through the daytime hours.

To maximize Z-A Royale earnings per night:

• Defeat as many trainers as possible in one night — the win-count multiplier is the main lever, not your competitive rank by itself.
• Collect medals dropped on the ground during Royale battles in addition to the ones earned from winning fights.
