Skill Fruits are how you turn a mediocre Pal into a boss-killer. Each fruit teaches a single active skill on the spot, letting you build a Pal's moveset toward high-power attacks that match its element. This guide explains how Skill Fruits work, where to farm them, how the Skill Fruit Orchard automates the supply, and which skills are worth teaching.

01What Skill Fruits Do

A Pal can have up to three active skills equipped for combat at once, chosen from everything it has learned. Pals pick up some skills automatically as they level, but those defaults are often weak or off-element. A Skill Fruit teaches a specific active skill to a Pal the moment you feed it to them, adding that move to the Pal's learned list.

A Pal can learn far more than three skills over its lifetime — the extras are simply not equipped. You can freely swap which three are active at any time from the Party menu or a Palbox, at no cost, so a skill you learn today isn't wasted even if you don't use it right away; a Pal also can't be taught a skill it already knows. Skill Fruits affect active combat skills only; they do not change passive skills (which come from breeding) or work suitability.

The biggest gains come from matching skill element to Pal element: a same-type skill gets roughly a 20% same-type damage bonus, so a Fire Pal deals noticeably more with a Fire skill than an off-element one of equal power.

02Where to Find Skill Fruits

Skill Fruits grow on distinctive Skill Fruit trees scattered across the islands:

• Wild Skill Fruit trees — dotted across most biomes; each tree's drop is random, so wandering a region with several trees is more effective than hunting one exact skill at one exact tree.
• Dungeons — treasure chests in dungeons can also contain Skill Fruits, including some stronger skills.
• Respawns — trees regrow their fruit over time (the exact interval depends on your world's respawn settings), so a farming circuit of known trees is still worth running periodically even though the reward is random each time.

Because wild drops are random, don't rely on wild trees alone for one specific skill — the Skill Fruit Orchard below is the reliable way to get a repeatable supply of a fruit you already have.

03The Skill Fruit Orchard: Farming Them at Base

Hunting wild trees forever is tedious and unreliable for a specific skill. The Skill Fruit Orchard lets you grow more of a Skill Fruit you already own at your base, turning one lucky drop into a renewable supply. It unlocks in the technology tree at character level 71, making it a late-game structure rather than an early tool.

• Plant an existing Skill Fruit directly into the Orchard — there is no separate seed item; the fruit itself is what you plant.
• Assign a Pal with Watering suitability to tend it, similar to a regular plantation.
• Once it matures, the Orchard bears more of that same Skill Fruit, which you then feed to any Pal to teach that skill.
• You need at least one of the fruit already (from a wild tree or dungeon) before you can start growing more of it.

The Orchard is most valuable for skills you teach repeatedly across a breeding line — plant one good fruit once and harvest a steady supply instead of re-running wild routes every time you hatch a new fighter.

04Best Active Skills to Teach

The strongest active skills combine high base power, a fast or reliable hit, and an element you can match to your attacker. Some of the top-rated skills by element include:

• Fire — Fire Ball and Ignis Rage sit among the highest base-power Fire skills.
• Dragon — Dragon Meteor and Dragon Breath are widely used top-end Dragon attacks.
• Ice — Blizzard Spike, Crystal Breath, and Iceberg are strong picks for Ice attackers.
• Dark — Dark Laser and Nightmare Ball are among the hardest-hitting Dark skills.
• A fast low-cooldown skill — keep one quick move alongside your big hitters so you always have something ready between cooldowns.

Aim for a loadout where at least two of your three equipped moves match your Pal's element (for the same-type bonus above), plus one reliable filler — avoid leaving low-level default skills equipped on a Pal you actually fight with.
