How to Beat Lost Lace in Silksong

Lost Lace is the climax of Silksong — the true final boss and the hardest fight in the base game. She is the third and final form of Lace, the rival who duels Hornet across all three acts. Reaching her is a quest in itself, and beating her unlocks the game's true ending. This guide covers how to unlock the fight and how to win it. Major story spoilers follow.

01Spoiler Warning & Who Lost Lace Is

This guide spoils Silksong's true ending and Act 3 — turn back if you want to discover it yourself.

Lace is a recurring antagonist you first duel in Act 1's Deep Docks and again in Act 2's the Cradle. When Grand Mother Silk is pulled into the Void at the end of Act 2, Lace cuts Hornet free and falls into the darkness with her — becoming possessed by void corruption and emerging as Lost Lace, the true final boss of the opt-in Act 3. Defeating her is the culmination of her arc and unlocks the Sister of the Void ending, one of Silksong's five endings.

02How to Unlock the Lost Lace Fight

Lost Lace is gated behind Act 3, which is not automatic — most players miss it on a first run:

1. Obtain the Needolin by defeating the boss Widow in Bellhart and binding her power.
2. Complete the Silk and Soul Wish before finishing Act 2 — this is a prerequisite for the ending you need.
3. Defeat Grand Mother Silk while using the Needolin during the fight. This triggers the Snared Silk ending (trapping her in the Void) instead of the default outcome, and the credits roll.
4. Reopen your save file. After the credits, the save profile appears covered in black thread on the file-select screen — pressing into it again continues the game into Act 3.
5. Explore corrupted Pharloom and obtain the Everbloom. Act 3 reshapes the world (some passages close, others open), and you'll need the Everbloom tool to proceed.
6. Dive into the Void at the bottom of the Abyss using the Everbloom and navigate to the silken cocoon where Grand Mother Silk is imprisoned — that cocoon is Lost Lace's arena.

If you already finished the game with a different ending, you cannot simply resume — you need a save that reaches the Snared Silk ending (defeating Grand Mother Silk with the Needolin) to unlock the Act 3 continuation.

03Lost Lace's Attacks

Lost Lace fights across four escalating phases, each adding new void-corrupted attacks on top of the last:

• Phases 1–2: dives into the void floor, quick lunges, horizontal Void Tendrils, a spinning Balestra slash, Triple Cut combos, and a dashing Lashing Lunge that trails void energy.
• Phase 2 adds: erupting Void Columns from the ground, Void Projectiles, and arcing Void Blobs that burst into slashes on landing.
• Phase 3 introduces: Void Waves — massive sweeping attacks strong enough to destroy active Tools if you're caught in them.
• Phase 4 (Lost Moulinet): she teleports through white circles around the arena and unleashes whirlwind slashes, demanding constant repositioning.

04Strategy to Beat Lost Lace

She rewards mastery of the systems the whole game has been teaching you:

1. Reposition with small dashes rather than sprinting across the arena — sprinting is more likely to run you into her contact damage.
2. Use jumps to evade most of her ground and dash attacks, and lean on Cling Grip plus Faydown Cloak to reach safe height quickly.
3. Stand beneath her aerial attacks when safe — it creates a reliable damage window.
4. She takes heavy knockback, so keep advancing into her while attacking instead of backing off after every hit.
5. Bring offensive Tools suited to Phase 4's chaos (Tacks and Cogflies are a good fit) to keep dealing damage while dodging the Lost Moulinet teleports.
6. Stay patient. A slow, clean run beats an aggressive sloppy one; her damage output punishes mistakes hard.
