Genshin Impact hides a surprising number of secrets beneath its open world — unmarked quests that only activate at specific in-game hours, hidden achievements buried in the audio-settings menu, co-op chests that vanish unless two players stand in exactly the right spot, and cultural references scattered from Mondstadt to Natlan. This guide covers the most interesting verified finds, along with exactly how to track each one down.

01The Nameless Island and the Time and Wind world quest

One of Mondstadt's best-kept secrets is an entirely unmarked island sitting far to the east of the first teleport waypoint on the map. Most players glance at it and move on — nothing on the in-game map, no quest marker, no NPC pointing toward it. Getting there is half the puzzle: glide from the peak of Starsnatch Cliff (possibly using stamina-restoring food mid-flight), or freeze a path across the sea using a Cryo character such as Kaeya.

On arrival, explore the ruins to find a large Ravaged Carving and a Ragged Notebook buried under a rock pile on the southern end of the island. Reading the notebook triggers the hidden world quest Time and Wind and instructs the Traveler to return between 2 AM and 5 AM (in-game time, changeable at any campfire). During that window, activate Elemental Sight to reveal glowing wind clusters around the island's sundial. Using an Anemo skill on each cluster draws out an Eye of the Storm, which then flees to the Thousand Winds Temple back on the mainland — requiring a second night-time visit and another set of Anemo activations before the final boss encounter.

• Fantastic Four: Complete any domain trial using four characters that share the same element. No specific element is required — the achievement rewards the novelty of running a mono-element team, something most guides never suggest.
• Run, Melos!: Maintain a full sprint by alternating dashes and jumps to carry momentum without letting the dash animation end. Sustain this for 15 consecutive seconds to unlock the achievement, which is harder than it sounds on uneven terrain.

In Inazuma's Araumi subregion on Narukami Island, an entire underground ruin complex sits completely invisible unless you know the trigger. On the surface, three small Earth Kitsune Fox Statues are scattered around the area. They look like decorative props — but aiming the Memento Lens gadget (obtained by completing part of the Sacrificial Offering world quest chain) at each statue reveals a hidden mechanism beneath it.

Activating all three mechanisms unseals a gate leading underground, opening access to the Perpetual Mechanical Array boss arena, the Empty Boat of a Thousand Gates domain, and multiple luxurious chests including one that spawns directly in front of the domain door the moment it unlocks. Much of Araumi's map area is literally underwater once you descend, with submerged passages connecting the various chambers.

• Wangshu Inn hidden exquisite chest: Jump from the southeast corner of the Wangshu Inn balcony toward the water mill below, then swim underneath the inn structure. A Cryo monument sits submerged nearby — activating it causes an exquisite chest to surface. The chest is invisible from the inn itself and from the river banks, making it one of Liyue's most-missed rewards.
