Genshin Impact Resin Calculator: When Will It Be Full?
Original Resin regenerates slowly and caps at 200 — anything above the cap is permanently lost. The interactive planner below tells you exactly when your resin will be full, how much will accumulate by any deadline, and how many Condensed Resin you can craft right now. All numbers are verified against the Version 4.7+ cap of 200 (raised from 160 in June 2024).
01The Three Numbers Every Genshin Player Needs
Understanding three core constants lets you manage resin without ever opening the in-game timer:
- Cap: 200 Original Resin. Raised from 160 to 200 in Version 4.7 (June 5, 2024). Any resin generated above 200 is silently discarded — the game does not warn you.
- Regen rate: 1 resin per 8 minutes (7.5 per hour, 180 per 24 hours). You never fill the cap in a single day of natural regeneration, but a full tank from zero takes 26 hours 40 minutes — just over a day.
- Condensed Resin: 40 Original Resin each, maximum 5 held. Crafted at any Crafting Bench using 40 Resin + 1 Crystal Core + 100 Mora. Each Condensed Resin doubles the drops of one domain or Ley Line run.
The practical consequence: if you have 100 resin now, you reach the cap in exactly 13 hours 20 minutes. Go longer without logging in and every regenerated point above 200 is wasted. The planner below takes the guesswork out of timing.

03Reading Your Results: What to Do Next
Time Until Full (Section 2): this is your personal overflow deadline. If the countdown is under 6 hours, you should spend resin before that time. Even a quick Ley Line Blossom run (20 resin) resets the clock meaningfully. If you see 0 — you are already at cap and losing resin this second.
Resin After Duration (Section 3): use this to plan around a fixed commitment. Heading to bed for 8 hours? Enter 8h 0m to see what you will wake up with and whether you need to spend first. Going to work for 9 hours? Same idea. The overflow warning (⚠) appears whenever you will hit 200 before your duration ends — that is resin you lose if you do not log in early.
Condensed Resin (Section 4): if the planner shows you can craft 2 or more Condensed Resin right now, it is almost always worth converting before your next domain session. Five Condensed Resin stored is 200 resin banked for later — an effective way to "save" resin without letting it overflow.
- Rule of thumb — daily check-in: log in at least once every 22 hours. The 200 cap gives you a small buffer beyond the 26h 40m full-cycle, but playing once per day keeps you comfortably within bounds.
- Spend before sleep if at 120+ resin: at 120 resin, you hit cap in less than 10 hours 40 minutes — typically within a single sleep window. Drain to under 80 before extended breaks.
- Never pop Fragile Resin above 140: Fragile Resin instantly adds 60 resin. If you are at 150, spending it would waste 10 resin to overflow. Always check your current amount first.
04Condensed Resin Deep Dive: Craft vs. Spend Directly
Both Condensed Resin and direct Original Resin spending give identical drops per domain run — Condensed Resin does not improve drop rates or rarity. The advantage is entirely in time efficiency: one Condensed Resin replaces two separate 20-resin domain entrances, cutting loading screens and menu time in half.
When to craft Condensed Resin first:
- You have a specific domain target (artifact set, talent book, weapon material) and plan to do multiple runs — condensing converts your resin to a storable form you can burn quickly.
- You are about to log out with 80+ resin and no time to spend it — convert to Condensed and you have effectively saved those runs for later.
- You are farming with a friend in co-op — Condensed Resin works in co-op domains and keeps the session efficient.
When to spend Original Resin directly:
- World bosses and weekly bosses — these do not accept Condensed Resin. You must spend 40 resin (world boss) or 30/60 resin (weekly boss) directly.
- Ley Line Blossoms — Condensed Resin works here, but if you only want one run for Mora, Original Resin is fine.
- You are already holding 5 Condensed Resin — the game prevents crafting a sixth. Spend from your stock first.
FAQ
How long until my Genshin resin is full?
It depends on how much you currently have. Resin regenerates at 1 per 8 minutes, so the formula is (200 − current resin) × 8 minutes. Examples: at 160 resin you need 320 more minutes (5 hours 20 minutes); at 100 resin it is 800 minutes (13 hours 20 minutes); from zero it takes 1,600 minutes (26 hours 40 minutes). The Resin Planner above calculates this instantly and shows the clock time when you will hit 200.
How much resin regenerates while I sleep?
In 8 hours of sleep you regenerate exactly 60 resin (floor of 480 ÷ 8). If you go to bed with 140 or more resin, you will hit the 200 cap before you wake up and lose resin to overflow. To avoid waste, spend down to at least 100–120 resin before a typical 7–8 hour break. Use Section 3 of the Resin Planner to model any specific sleep window.
What is the Genshin resin cap?
The Original Resin cap is 200, increased from 160 in Version 4.7 (June 5, 2024). Natural daily regeneration is 180 resin, so the cap gives you a small buffer — you will not overflow within a single 24-hour day starting from zero. However, if you already have resin when the day begins, overflow can happen within the day. Always check your level before long breaks.
How many Condensed Resin can I hold at once in Genshin?
You can hold a maximum of 5 Condensed Resin at once. Each costs 40 Original Resin + 1 Crystal Core + 100 Mora to craft at any Crafting Bench. Five Condensed Resin store the equivalent of 200 Original Resin worth of domain runs. The Resin Planner's Section 4 shows how many you can craft from your current resin and the exact material cost.
Does Condensed Resin give better drops than regular resin in Genshin?
No — Condensed Resin gives the same expected drops as two separate 20-resin domain runs. The benefit is time efficiency, not better RNG. One Condensed Resin entry to a domain gives you two rewards in a single run, saving one full domain load and run. Drop rates, artifact quality, and talent book chances are all identical.
When should I use Fragile Resin in Genshin?
Fragile Resin instantly restores 60 Original Resin, but if your current resin is above 140, the excess overflows and is wasted. Always spend down before using Fragile Resin. The best use case is AR45+ artifact farming when you have a clear target set in mind and want to extend your daily session. Avoid using Fragile Resin early-game when natural resin already covers daily ascension needs.
