Gears of War: E-Day PC System Requirements — Minimum & Recommended

Gears of War: E-Day's official PC requirements landed alongside the June 2026 Xbox Games Showcase reveal. The headline numbers — a 130 GB install and an RTX 2060 as the GPU floor — rule out a chunk of older hardware, so here's exactly what you need before October 6.

01Minimum Requirements

• OS: 64-bit Windows 10, build 22H2 or newer
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6850K, or Intel Core i5-10400
• RAM: 12 GB
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 / RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6600 / RX 9060, or Intel Arc A580
• DirectX: DirectX 12
• Storage: 130 GB available space — on an SSD
• A broadband internet connection and a DirectX-compatible sound device are also required.

02Recommended Requirements

• OS: 64-bit Windows 11, build 25H2 or newer
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600K
• RAM: 16 GB
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 / RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT / RX 9060 XT, or Intel Arc B580 — all requiring at least 8 GB VRAM
• Storage: 130 GB on an SSD (same as minimum — the install size doesn't shrink at higher settings)

03What This Actually Means for Older Hardware

A few things stand out in the published spec sheet:

• GTX 10-series cards (GTX 1060, GTX 1080, etc.) are not on the minimum list. The GPU floor starts at RTX 2060-class hardware, so pre-RTX GPUs are likely to struggle or fall outside official support entirely.
• An SSD is mandatory, not a recommendation. Both minimum and recommended specs call out solid-state storage — this is an Unreal Engine 5 title with the fast-streaming assumptions that come with it, and a traditional hard drive is expected to cause stuttering or long load times at best.
• 130 GB is a large footprint, in the same range as recent big-budget shooters. Plan storage accordingly if you're also installing on Xbox Series X|S, since console storage fills up just as fast.
• 12–16 GB of RAM is a modest ask by 2026 standards, so system memory is unlikely to be the bottleneck for most builds — the GPU and storage type are the two requirements worth double-checking before launch.

04Before You Buy on PC

These are the requirements as published around the June 2026 reveal — Xbox and The Coalition can still adjust them before release, and Steam's own store page will carry the final, authoritative version closer to October 6.
