EA Sports FC 26 is the third instalment of EA's football simulation series after the 2023 rebrand from FIFA. It was developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania, published by Electronic Arts, and released on 26 September 2025 (with Early Access from 19 September for Ultimate Edition owners). The game is available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Series X|S, PC via the EA App, Steam and Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Amazon Luna. As with previous entries in the series, the game is officially licensed and features thousands of real players, clubs, and competitions.
Manager Live is a dynamic challenge hub introduced in EA Sports FC 26 that replaces the traditional single linear career save as the primary way to engage with Manager Career. It presents weekly and monthly scenario-based challenges — such as rescuing a relegation-threatened club, winning the Treble in three seasons, or signing only players under 23 — each with specific parameters and objectives. Completing challenges earns Season Points for the Career Mode Season Pass, cosmetic Vanity rewards, and in some cases licensed ICONs and retro kits that carry over into other saves.
EA Sports FC 26 ships with two main gameplay presets. Authentic is the default for offline and single-player modes: it emphasises realistic physics-based rebounds, more positional AI, and real-world success rates for tackles, headers, and corners. Competitive is tuned for online play, with tighter animations and faster responsiveness. Most Career Mode players start on Authentic and switch to Competitive only when they move into online modes. Both presets can be changed freely at any time in the settings.
Yes. Any ICON or Hero you unlock through the Manager Live Season Pass is permanently added to your game library and can be used in any future Career Mode save — not just the one where you earned them. Season 1 of the Career Mode Season Pass featured David Beckham as the headline ICON reward. EA has indicated that new seasons will rotate in different ICON and Hero rewards over time, but previously unlocked players remain available.
The Standard Edition of EA Sports FC 26 features Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala on the cover — both among the highest-rated players in the game. The Ultimate Edition cover star is Zlatan Ibrahimović, whose inclusion in the game also introduces the Career Mode ICONs and Heroes system that the Season Pass builds on. The Ultimate Edition also granted Early Access from 19 September 2025, a week before the general release on 26 September.
