Crimson Desert Patch 1.13 Update Guide

Updated August 20267 min readBy the HowToPlayHub team

Patch 1.13.00 arrived on July 3, 2026 and makes meaningful structural changes to how Crimson Desert's endgame operates. The headline feature — full Abyss access for Oongka and Damiane — finally breaks the restriction that sent every player back to Kliff whenever an underground zone needed clearing. Alongside that, the patch delivers 47 new equipment pieces including boss-themed outfit sets for all three characters, relocates Memory Fragments for four rematchable bosses to accommodate the updated Abyss layout, and rounds out the release with a suite of quality-of-life improvements and combat fixes addressing widely reported friction points. Two subsequent updates followed: the 1.13.01 hotfix (July 8, 2026) resolved challenge rewards not being paid out and several platform-specific issues, and patch 1.14.00 (July 16, 2026) introduced cross-save support across PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

01Patch 1.13.00 at a Glance

The update touches every major pillar of the post-story loop — Abyss exploration, equipment variety, and moment-to-moment combat feel:

02Abyss Access for Oongka and Damiane

The most impactful change in 1.13.00 is the removal of the Kliff-only restriction on Abyss zones. In all versions before this patch, entering an Abyss Gate through a completed Spire required the active character to be Kliff; Oongka and Damiane were locked out of underground zones entirely. That restriction is lifted.

Both characters can now enter any Abyss zone already unlocked through Spire completion, including solving the puzzle chains inside. This change has three practical effects on post-story play:

Existing Abyss Gate unlocks carry over automatically. If you already completed all eight Spires before this patch, Oongka and Damiane can enter every zone immediately with no re-clearing required. For the full picture of how Abyss zones fit into the post-story system, see the Endgame Guide.

03New Equipment: 47 Pieces Across All Three Characters

Patch 1.13.00 adds 47 equipment pieces total, split between Kliff/Oongka and Damiane. The sets are boss-themed — named after notable figures encountered across Pywel — and represent the largest single equipment update since launch.

Boss outfit sets for Kliff and Oongka (39 pieces total including armor, headgear, and new Kuku-compatible resistance gear):

Boss outfit sets for Damiane:

Beyond the named sets, Oongka can now equip most outfits that were previously exclusive to Kliff — a significant cosmetic unlock for players who spend the bulk of their time as Oongka. New Kuku-compatible resistance equipment (Lightning-Resistant Armor, Flame-Resistant Armor, Ice-Resistant Armor, Breeze-Step Boots, Rishi's Boots, and Marni Laser Helm) is also included in the Kliff/Oongka count.

For how the new equipment interacts with Abyss Gear socket runes and updated build recommendations, see the Best Builds Guide and the Skill Tree Guide.

04Memory Fragment Relocations: Four Boss Rematches Have Moved

Opening Abyss zones to Oongka and Damiane required structural changes to several underground areas, which displaced the Memory Fragments used to trigger boss rematches for four enemies:

If you travel to the previous Fragment location for any of these four bosses, the pickup prompt will not appear. Open your Challenges tab and select the relevant boss rematch challenge — the updated in-game map marker will point to the new Fragment position. The rematch encounter itself, its difficulty, and its rewards are unchanged; only the Fragment pickup spot has moved.

All other rematchable bosses in Pywel are unaffected — their Memory Fragment positions remain the same as in pre-1.13 versions.

05Quality-of-Life Improvements

Hunter's Sigil. A new item equippable on bird-type companions. When a bird carries a Hunter's Sigil, it automatically retrieves prey and gatherable items that match the bird's specialty rather than waiting for manual collection. For players who use bird companions during open-world traversal, this removes a repetitive loop between hunts.

Dyeable equipment expanded. Disguise outfits and the majority of weapons and off-hand weapons that previously could not be dyed are now editable in the dye menu. If a piece in your wardrobe was locked to its factory colour before this patch, open the dye screen and check — many items have been unlocked. Additionally, the Iron Eagle and Phoenix equipment sets can now equip Sigil of Valor.

Hide Minimap and Status toggle. Found under Settings > Others > Gameplay. Toggling this option off removes both the minimap and all status HUD elements simultaneously. The option is reversible — re-enable it to restore both elements immediately. Useful for clean exploration or uncluttered screenshots.

Pet resting behavior. Summoned pets now join your character in the rest animation when you use a bed. Previously they remained standing or detached during the rest sequence — a small immersion break that multiple community threads had flagged as odd.

Firefly gathering now yields up to 3 items per node. Previously capped at 1, this change benefits any crafting or quest workflow that requires firefly-based ingredients.

06Combat and Mechanical Fixes

Several combat mechanics that had shipped with persistent inconsistencies were addressed in 1.13.00:

Additional bug fixes in this patch: quest auto-track switching reliability improved; a rowboat sinking issue in specific water zones resolved; NPC disappearance affecting Moren and Duane during certain quest sequences corrected; housing mode object placement and rotation problems fixed; crash events when opening the world map or during boss rematches addressed; Focused Aerial Roll no longer incorrectly triggers crime detection near NPCs; character freeze during high-point jump attacks corrected.

07Patch 1.13.01 Hotfix (July 8, 2026)

Five days after 1.13.00, Pearl Abyss released patch 1.13.01 — a hotfix targeting issues that emerged at scale across all platforms following the larger update.

08Patch 1.14.00: Cross-Save (July 16, 2026)

Patch 1.14.00 arrived on July 16, 2026 with one headline feature: cross-save, allowing a single save file to carry progress across all supported platforms simultaneously.

Cross-save is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The Mac App Store version of Crimson Desert is excluded from the initial rollout; Pearl Abyss has indicated Mac App Store support will follow in a later update.

To set up cross-save:

  1. Link your platform accounts (PSN, Xbox, Steam, Epic) to a Pearl Abyss ID.
  2. In-game, open the Save Game menu and designate a cross-save slot.
  3. Follow the in-game QR code or the dedicated cross-save page Pearl Abyss links from the menu for step-by-step instructions.

Beyond cross-save, patch 1.14.00 includes bug fixes, localization corrections, and stability improvements. No new gameplay content or mechanics were added in this release.

09What Came After: Patches 1.15 Through 1.17 (August 2026)

1.13 and 1.14 are no longer the current state of the game — three more updates followed, and by August 2026 the live version is patch 1.17.00. Here is what changed since cross-save landed, in brief:

FAQ

What did the Crimson Desert 1.13 update add?

Patch 1.13.00 added full Abyss access for Oongka and Damiane (previously only Kliff could enter Abyss zones), 47 new equipment pieces across all three characters including five boss-themed sets for Kliff/Oongka and three for Damiane, relocated Memory Fragments for four rematchable bosses (Corrupted Caliburn, Goyen, Draven the Crowcaller, Clockwork White Horn), the Hunter's Sigil pet item, expanded dyeable equipment, a Hide Minimap and Status UI toggle, and numerous combat and bug fixes.

Can Oongka and Damiane enter the Abyss after patch 1.13?

Yes. As of patch 1.13.00, both Oongka and Damiane can enter any Abyss zone already unlocked through Spire completion — including solving puzzles and farming inside the zone. Previously only Kliff could use Abyss Gates. No Spires need to be re-cleared; existing unlocks carry over immediately.

When was the Crimson Desert 1.13 patch released?

Patch 1.13.00 was released on July 3, 2026 across all supported platforms: PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation, Xbox, and Mac App Store.

What new outfits are in Crimson Desert patch 1.13?

Patch 1.13.00 added five boss-themed outfit sets for Kliff and Oongka — Tarandus the Ashen, Unyielding Hero, Knight of Carnage, Martial Monk, and Grand General of Demeniss — plus three sets for Damiane: Guardian of Odeck, Dark Marksman, and Masked Liberator. In total, 47 new equipment pieces were added.

Why did Memory Fragment locations change in patch 1.13?

The Memory Fragments for Corrupted Caliburn, Goyen, Draven the Crowcaller, and Clockwork White Horn were relocated because adding Oongka and Damiane to the Abyss required structural changes to several underground zones. If your saved Fragment location is now empty, open the Challenges tab and use the updated in-game map marker to find the new position.

What is the Hunter's Sigil in Crimson Desert?

Hunter's Sigil is a new pet item added in patch 1.13.00 that equips on bird-type companions. When a bird carries it, the bird automatically retrieves prey and gatherable items matching its specialty, reducing manual collection after each hunting run.

What did the Crimson Desert 1.13.01 hotfix fix?

Patch 1.13.01, released July 8, 2026, fixed challenge rewards not being paid out after completion, Oongka failing to follow Kliff in certain main quest cutscenes, the Hoenmark Ruins liberation being blocked, an occasional crash when riding a bear, character rendering errors on consoles and AMD-based PCs, a livestock feed bin tracking issue, and frame rate drops in specific environments.

Does Crimson Desert have cross-save between PS5, Xbox, and PC?

Yes. Patch 1.14.00 (July 16, 2026) added cross-save support for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store, allowing a single save file to be used across all four platforms. The Mac App Store version is not included in the initial rollout. To enable it, link your platform accounts to a Pearl Abyss ID and designate a cross-save slot in the Save Game menu.

Is Crimson Desert patch 1.13 still the current update?

No. As of August 2026 the live version is patch 1.17.00. Three updates followed 1.14's cross-save release: patch 1.15.00 (July 23) was a bug-fix pass with a Mace of Ambition relocation; patch 1.16.00 (August 6) delivered a full Trading and Banking overhaul plus combat refinements, including smoother combo-skill transitions after Stab for sword and dagger users and Charged Shot working while running; and patch 1.17.00 (August 7) fixed the Desperate Rescue Sealed Artifact challenge's progress tracking, a food quick-slot bug, and a special headgear effect issue. The Abyss access, new equipment, and Memory Fragment changes documented above from 1.13 are still current — nothing since has reverted them.
