Sims 4: All Cheat Codes (Full List)

The Sims 4 has one of the deepest cheat systems in any life sim — money, building, character editing, careers, skills, moods and relationships can all be bent to your will. This is the complete, organised list of the cheats that matter, how to open the console on every platform, and which enabler each one needs.

01Opening the Console & the Master Enabler

Open the cheat console first — it is a text bar at the top of the screen:

• PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
• Mac: Command + Shift + C
• PlayStation / Xbox: hold all four shoulder buttons at once

Then type the master enabler testingcheats true and press Enter. This unlocks the advanced cheats and lets you Shift+Click Sims and objects for extra cheat menus. Note that enabling cheats disables achievements for that save session.

02Money Cheats

The most-used cheats in the game:

• motherlode — adds §50,000 (stackable).
• rosebud / kaching — each add §1,000.
• money [number] — sets funds to an exact amount, e.g. money 1000000.
• freerealestate on — move into any lot for free (type it from the Manage Worlds / neighbourhood view, not inside a house).

03Build & Buy Mode Cheats

These transform building. Most work even without the enabler, but type testingcheats true first to be safe:

• bb.moveobjects — removes placement restrictions; objects can overlap and sit off-grid. Hold Alt while placing for free positioning, and use 9 and 0 to raise and lower objects.
• bb.showhiddenobjects — reveals hidden debug items in Buy Mode (search 'debug').
• bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement — unlocks all career-reward objects in Buy Mode.
• bb.enablefreebuild — build on normally locked lots such as the hospital or secret lots.

04Create-A-Sim (CAS) Cheats

For editing Sims beyond the normal options:

• cas.fulleditmode — unlocks full editing of an existing Sim (name, age, gender, traits, genetics). After entering it, Shift+Click the Sim and choose 'Modify in CAS'.
• Shift+Click a Sim (with cheats on) for quick options like resetting the Sim, making them happy, or adding to family.
• sims.modify_funds [number] — an alternative way to adjust funds via the Sim.

05Needs, Mood & Career Cheats

Keep a Sim topped up, promoted, and in the right mood:

• Fill all needs: Shift+Click the Sim (cheats on) → 'Make Happy' / 'Cheat Need' → 'Make Happy', or Shift+Click the mailbox for the whole household.
• careers.promote [careername] — promote one level, e.g. careers.promote Painter. Use careers.demote [careername] to drop a level.
• careers.add_career [careername] and careers.remove_career [careername] — add or quit a career instantly.
• sims.give_satisfaction_points [number] — add aspiration reward-store points.
• aspirations.complete_current_milestone — finish the current aspiration step.

06Skill & Relationship Cheats

Two of the most powerful categories — covered in depth in our dedicated guides, but the core formats are:

• Skills: stats.set_skill_level Major_[Skill] [1-10], e.g. stats.set_skill_level Major_Painting 10. Major skills cap at 10; minor and child skills use a lower cap.
• Relationships: modifyrelationship [Sim1First] [Sim1Last] [Sim2First] [Sim2Last] [value] LTR_Friendship_Main for friendship, or LTR_Romance_Main for romance. Values range from -100 to 100.
• Age up: sims.age_up advances the selected Sim to the next life stage.
