GTA 6: What we know so far
The biggest open-world crime game in years is almost here. Here's a clear, no-hype rundown of everything that's actually been confirmed — so you walk into Leonida knowing exactly what you're getting into.
01The basics
After an earlier window, the launch settled on November 19, 2026. It arrives first on current-gen consoles, with a PC version confirmed but expected later rather than at launch.
02Where it's set
The game returns to Leonida, a fictional state inspired by modern-day Florida, centred on a reimagined Vice City. Expect sun-soaked beaches, swampland, neon nightlife and a sprawling map that stretches well beyond the city limits — the most detailed world the series has built so far.
03Who you play
For the first time, the story follows two leads — Lucia and Jason — whose paths are tied together. The dual-protagonist setup hints at a Bonnie-and-Clyde dynamic, with the ability to switch perspectives shaping how missions play out.
04What to expect
- A living world: denser crowds, reactive traffic and weather, and reflective wet streets that turn night-time neon into a show.
- Deeper systems: more believable AI, richer interiors, and an economy you'll want a money guide for (we'll have one ready).
- Online down the line: a connected multiplayer mode is expected to follow the single-player launch.
05How to get ready
We're lining up day-one guides: a beginner walkthrough, fast early-money routes, a full map breakdown and a vehicles tier list. Bookmark the GTA 6 hub and you'll be ready the moment the city opens.
