But across two official trailers, Rockstar has given players six confirmed songs to work with — and one confirmed radio station. Because GTA 6 is not yet released, everything in this guide is explicitly labeled by source. The standard used throughout:

The track is from Tom Petty's 1989 solo album Full Moon Fever. It plays across the full length of Trailer 1, providing a slow-burn, sun-drenched backdrop to the Florida imagery and Lucia's release from prison.

The song's streaming numbers after the trailer released were remarkable and well-documented:

• Spotify streams jumped by nearly 37,000% compared to the prior week, according to multiple outlets including Kotaku and GameSpot.
• The song accumulated over 11 million plays on Spotify within a day of the trailer's release.
• It ranked second on the worldwide iTunes chart and registered almost 250,000 Shazam searches.
• Tom Petty's official channels noted the connection to GTA history — Petty's "Runnin' Down a Dream" had appeared in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The choice of a 1989 Tom Petty deep cut for the reveal trailer was widely read as a signal about the game's tonal ambitions: sun, nostalgia, and a kind of American melancholy — consistent with the Vice City / South Florida setting. Rockstar had used its trailer music as a deliberate statement in every previous mainline GTA reveal.

03Trailer 2: Five Songs, Five Genres — Confirmed

GTA 6 Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025. Unlike Trailer 1's single dominant track, Trailer 2 featured five songs — a structural choice that appeared to deliberately mirror how an in-game radio would work, with tracks changing as Jason drives between locations.

1. "Thunder Island" — Jay Ferguson (1977). Plays briefly at the trailer's opening as Jason interacts with his employer. A soft rock track from Ferguson's second solo album of the same name — an obscure but distinctly period-appropriate choice.
2. "Child Support" — Zenglen. A Haitian kompas (kompa) track from one of Haiti's most well-known musical groups. Its inclusion is culturally significant — Vice City's geography encompasses South Florida, which has a substantial Haitian diaspora community. The selection signals that GTA 6's radio will reflect the actual musical diversity of the region.
3. "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" — Wang Chung (1986). From the British pop duo's album Mosaic. A synth-pop track that fits squarely in the period-appropriate lane GTA has always favored for its radio stations.
4. "Talkin' to Myself Again" — Tammy Wynette (1987). Written by Jamie O'Hara, the song reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart on its original release. Its placement in the trailer confirms a country station — or at minimum a country-adjacent station — as part of GTA 6's radio lineup. 04The One Confirmed Radio Station: V-Rock

Only one radio station name has been confirmed for GTA 6, and it came not from a press release but from a piece of clothing.

V-Rock is confirmed through official Rockstar promotional material showing Jason Duval wearing a V-Rock t-shirt. Multiple outlets — PCGamesN, RockstarINTEL, GTA Fandom, and Altchar among them — have identified this as the clearest confirmation that V-Rock will return in GTA 6.

V-Rock originated in GTA: Vice City (2002), where it was the game's dedicated rock station, playing hard rock and heavy metal tracks. Given that GTA 6's setting returns to Vice City — renamed Vice City in Leonida — the return of V-Rock carries story and setting logic beyond just the t-shirt.

What the V-Rock confirmation tells us:

• The station's name and existence are confirmed by its appearance on official Rockstar merchandise / in-game clothing shown in official promotion.
• V-Rock's full playlist, DJ, and musical genre scope are not confirmed. The original Vice City V-Rock played hard rock and metal. GTA 6's V-Rock may differ.
• No other specific radio station names have been confirmed through official channels. The Tammy Wynette song suggests country music will be represented, and the Haitian kompa track suggests Latin and Caribbean programming, but those observations are inferences from the music, not named station announcements.

05What to Realistically Expect: Radio in GTA History

Rockstar has not announced the GTA 6 radio system. But every mainline GTA game since GTA 3 has featured a multi-station radio system, and the patterns are consistent enough to set expectations — labeled clearly as expectation, not announcement:

• 15 or more radio stations is the floor, not the ceiling. GTA 5 shipped with 15 stations covering hip-hop, rock, country, talk radio, electronic, and more. Vice City had 9 stations for a smaller map. Given GTA 6's scale — the largest map Rockstar has ever built, per community analysis of trailer footage — 15 to 20+ stations is the most grounded expectation.

• Full station lists (15–20 named stations) — unconfirmed. Several fan sites publish what they present as "the complete GTA 6 radio lineup." These lists are fan compilations based on leaks, educated guesses, and datamined information from unofficial sources. Rockstar has not released a station lineup.
• Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N Roll" in a game scene — unverified. Dexerto noted a song resembling "I Love Rock N Roll" by Joan Jett in a game scene, but the source and exact version could not be confirmed. Listed here as uncertain, not confirmed.
• A Spotify-integrated in-car radio — unconfirmed. Some community discussion has referenced the idea of Spotify integration similar to rumors about previous GTA titles. Rockstar has never announced this for GTA 6.
• Any specific station genre assignments beyond V-Rock — speculation. Community assignments like "Lucia's station plays reggaeton" or "X station will play 80s hits" are fan theory based on the setting and demographic assumptions. None of it comes from Rockstar.

07When Will the Full Soundtrack Be Announced?

GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026. Rockstar's current marketing has shown trailers but no gameplay UI, no radio station list, and no official tracklist beyond what the two trailers played.

Based on Rockstar's past pattern:

• Trailer 3 or a dedicated gameplay reveal is the most likely moment for the first radio-related details. GTA 5's radio stations were not detailed until much closer to its 2013 launch.
• Rockstar may release an official GTA 6 station list on the Newswire 4–8 weeks before launch, as a marketing beat. This is the moment the community has been waiting for.
• The full tracklist often leaks in the days after launch as players discover stations — GTA 5's full soundtrack was compiled by community sources within weeks of release.
