Enshrouded Bosses Guide Where to Find Every Story Boss in 1.0
Eight bosses gate your Flame Altar in Enshrouded 1.0, and you meet them in this order: Scavenger Matron, Fell Wispwyvern, Fell Monstrosity, Fell Sicklescythe, Fell Cyclops, Fell Dragon Youngling, Hydrak'Dal and finally Vorgoth. Each one (except a relic step before the finale) drops the trophy you need for the next Flame Level. This page lists where each boss lives, which quest points you there and the damage types that work. Enshrouded 1.0 shipped on 15 October 2026, so older Early Access guides can be out of date. For the costs of each upgrade see our Flame Altar upgrade guide.
01Boss Order at a Glance
The community wiki's Flame Altar table (as used in our upgrade guide) maps each boss to a Flame Altar step:
- Level 2→3: Scavenger Matron (Springlands)
- Level 3→4: Fell Wispwyvern (Revelwood)
- Level 4→5: Fell Monstrosity (Nomad Highlands)
- Level 5→6: Fell Sicklescythe (Kindlewastes)
- Level 6→7: Fell Cyclops (Albaneve Summits)
- Level 7→8: Fell Dragon Youngling (Albaneve Summits)
- Level 8→9: Hydrak'Dal (Veilwater Basin)
- Level 9→10: no boss, you need the Broken Guard Of The North Crown relic
- Level 10→11: Vorgoth (Ancient Citadel above Cinder's Cradle)
Some third-party pages shift these levels by one, so trust the in-game Strengthen the Flame screen if a number differs.
02Scavenger Matron (Springlands)
Look for it at the Hill of Scavengers, north-east of the Springlands Ancient Spire; the Alchemist's quest The Alchemist's Rumors sends you there. The wiki also lists Matron spawns in Revelwood (Glennwood's End and Fawnsong Frontier) if you need a repeat fight.
The wiki describes two variants: the Gorger throws poison in three directions toward you, and the Grizzler summons reinforcements. Both are easy to punish from range, so keep your distance and clear the adds first.
03Fell Wispwyvern (Revelwood)
A unique boss in the castle courtyard at The Pike, in the northern part of Pikemead's Reach. Killing it is an objective of Reach The Capital, Pikemead's Reach.
- Shroud Spray: projectiles on reticule-marked ground, so leave the marked spots.
- Shroud Breath: a cone of Shroud damage in front of it.
- Pounce: it lands where you were standing, so move before it lands.
- Tail Sweep: melee, so do not stay behind it.
- Roar: summons Fell Beetles, but hitting it in the mouth during the roar stuns it and leaves it vulnerable.
Drops include the Fell Wispwyvern Head, the Commander's Ring and the Key to The Pike.
04Fell Monstrosity (Nomad Highlands)
The quest-linked fight is at the Cradle of Dusk (the Alchemist's A Black Cauldron For The Alchemist), west-north-west of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire. The wiki also lists repeat spawns at Elixir Wells and other spots in the Nomad Highlands, Kindlewastes, Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin.
It uses Shroud Spray (projectiles on targeted ground) and Shroud Breath (a line in front of it). Its arena has immobile humanoid statues that either break or spawn a Fell Berserker when touched, so do not run into them casually.
Per the wiki's defence table it is immune to Shroud damage, takes extra damage from fire and is neutral to ice and shock. Bring fire weapons or spells.
05Fell Sicklescythe (Kindlewastes)
One of its spawn points is the Haunted Sun Temple near Brittlebush in Kindlewastes; the same source lists several more, and community guides disagree on which is closest, so check your in-game map.
No source we checked documents its attack pattern or weaknesses, so we are not guessing. Stay mobile, keep your distance and see how it moves in the first exchange.
06Fell Cyclops (Albaneve Summits)
It waits at an Elixir Well in Albaneve Summits; the wiki ties it to the quest Ignite The Coldest Elixir Well.
Damage table from the wiki: fire and Shroud are effective, ice and blunt damage are resisted, everything else is neutral. Leave ice staves and maces at home.
07Fell Dragon Youngling (Albaneve Summits)
Fought at Howling Peak during Slaying The Corrupted Beast.
1.0 reworked this fight. According to Keen Games (via PCGamesN) the arena is deeper, the dragon is easier to stun and stays stunned longer, its weak spot on the back can be hit by all weapon types, it lands on the platform at one point so melee fighters get openings, and you can parry its projectiles back at it to stun it.
- Fill the stun bar with Stun Arrows or lightning spells such as Chain Lightning. It takes reduced damage while not stunned.
- Deflect the Fell Fire Meteors back at it to fill the bar faster.
- When its head leans back for the breath attack, move to the other side of the platform.
- Once it falls, dump damage and then step clear of the knockback.
- It wakes and summons Fell Draconian Vultures: kill them, refill the bar and repeat.
If you catch fire, dodge or blink to put it out. Drops include five Shroud Cores and the head for the Level 7→8 step. Keen Games also said that dying mid-fight now lets bosses regenerate slowly instead of fully resetting, but described that feature as still being tested, so do not rely on it.
08Hydrak'Dal (Veilwater Basin)
The Fisher's Vengeance quest (it follows Emerald Shores And Sanguine Seas) sends you after the Drak leader in Veilwater Basin. One guide says the basin opens up once your Flame Altar is at Level 8.
We could not confirm weaknesses or an attack list from sources we opened, so bring your strongest gear, stay mobile and watch for ground telegraphs. The reward is the Hydrak'Dal Head for the Level 8→9 step.
09Level 10: The Relic, Not a Boss
The 9→10 upgrade needs the Broken Guard Of The North Crown relic instead of a boss head, so there is no boss fight for that step. See the Flame Altar upgrade guide for its full cost list.
10Vorgoth, the Final Boss
Vorgoth is in Mother Flame's Domicile inside the Ancient Citadel above Cinder's Cradle, for the quest Cinders of the End. Finish the six Beacon Dungeons, then use the teleport platform at Cinder's Ascent to reach the Ancient Capital. Before the arena, find the switches on the upper platforms that unlock the final barrier.
Vorgoth is a Fell enemy and immune to Shroud damage, so bring a weapon or spell that is not Shroud-based, repaired gear, healing and a backup weapon.
- Phase 1, Champion of the Shroud: an armoured swordsman. His main threat is a lunge: dodge once he commits, then hit him as it ends.
- Phase 2, the Wanderer's Vessel: a larger Shroud form with a Triple Slam, Dash Sweep, a tentacle that pulls you in, Shroud projectiles and summoned enemies. Keep stamina for escaping the pull.
- Shroud organs (cysts, eyes, flowers, tentacles) around the arena pass damage to him, so hitting them is useful when safe.
Stay careful even when he is nearly beaten: Shroud exposure and nearby enemies can still kill you. Afterwards use Commune with the Flame at the central mechanism to complete the quest. Vorgoth drops Vorgoth's Bound Essence and Vorgoth's Eye, which the Level 10→11 upgrade needs, so keep both.
11General Tips
- Ranged damage makes most of these fights easier; Stun Arrows are useful against the larger bosses.
- Match damage to the boss: Shroud damage does nothing against Vorgoth and the Fell Monstrosity (the Fell Cyclops is the exception, it is weak to Shroud).
FAQ
What order should I fight the bosses in Enshrouded?
Scavenger Matron, Fell Wispwyvern, Fell Monstrosity, Fell Sicklescythe, Fell Cyclops, Fell Dragon Youngling, Hydrak'Dal, then Vorgoth. Each head feeds the next Flame Altar upgrade, and the 9→10 step needs a relic instead of a boss.
Who is the final boss in Enshrouded 1.0?
Vorgoth, fought in two forms in Mother Flame's Domicile inside the Ancient Citadel above Cinder's Cradle. Defeating him provides what you need for Flame Level 11.
What is the Fell Monstrosity weak to?
Fire. The community wiki lists fire as effective, ice and shock as neutral, and Shroud as immune.
What is the Fell Cyclops weak to?
Fire and Shroud damage are effective; ice and blunt damage are resisted, per the community wiki.
How do I beat the Fell Dragon Youngling?
Fill its stun bar with Stun Arrows, lightning spells or by deflecting its meteors back at it, then attack while it is down. Kill the summoned vultures and repeat. 1.0 made the fight easier to stun and added a landing phase for melee.
Do I need to kill every boss to reach Flame Level 11?
You need the head or item for each step: eight bosses plus the Broken Guard Of The North Crown relic. The Level 9→10 step needs no boss fight.
Can I fight Vorgoth with Shroud weapons?
It is a poor idea. Vorgoth is immune to Shroud damage, so use a weapon or spell that deals another damage type.
