Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 4 & Vault Card 4 Guide

Bounty Pack 4: Murders & Acquisitions and the accompanying Vault Card 4: Desert Dreams both released July 30, 2026 as part of Patch 1.9. Both are separate $5.99 purchases (or included in bundle editions) — here's what each actually contains, what it costs, and how they fit together.

01Bounty Pack 4: Murders & Acquisitions — What It Adds

Bounty Pack 4 is paid DLC — $5.99 standalone, or included with Deluxe/Super Deluxe editions and the Bounty Pack Bundle. It adds a new repeatable mission centered on The Flock, a commune of pacifist Rippers, who reach out for help against a hostile faction called The Blasphemers at the Toxic Scowl location.

Completing the mission and its associated encounters feeds into a curated loot pool rather than replacing world drops:

• 1 new Pearlescent weapon — the pack's headline drop, sitting above Legendary rarity.
• 6 new Legendary items spread across weapon and gear types.

As a repeatable mission, Bounty Pack 4's encounter can be farmed the same way as other Bounty Pack content from earlier in Borderlands 4's endgame rotation — run it again for another shot at the Pearlescent and Legendary pool rather than treating it as a one-time story beat.

02Vault Card 4: Desert Dreams — What It Costs and Contains

Vault Card 4: Desert Dreams is a separate paid track that shipped alongside Bounty Pack 4 — it's $5.99 standalone, or included with Deluxe/Super Deluxe editions and the Bounty Pack Bundle. It is not free and doesn't come with base ownership of Borderlands 4. Once you own it, though, every reward unlocks through normal play — no extra microtransactions per item, just XP and challenge progress:

• 24 cosmetic items — including unique character heads, weapon skins, vehicle skins, and ECHO-4 drone customization options.
• 4 rerollable Legendary gear pieces — unlocked through gameplay progress, with rolls that can be reforged rather than being fixed items.

Vault Cards in Borderlands 4 track separately from the Battle Pass-style seasonal content in other looter shooters — Desert Dreams is themed around a desert aesthetic (matching its name) across the cosmetic set, distinct from the previous three Vault Cards' visual themes.

03Bounty Pack 4 vs. Vault Card 4 — What You Actually Need

It's easy to conflate the two since they released together and cost the same $5.99, but they're separate purchases with separate rewards:

• Bounty Pack 4 ($5.99 standalone): unlocks the new Flock vs. Blasphemers mission and its dedicated Pearlescent/Legendary loot pool.
• Vault Card 4 ($5.99 standalone): unlocks 24 cosmetics and 4 rerollable Legendary gear pieces, earned through normal play once you own it.

If you're only after the cosmetics and the four rerollable Legendaries, you don't need Bounty Pack 4 — but you do still need to own Vault Card 4 itself, since none of its rewards come free with the base game. Conversely, the Pearlescent weapon and Bounty Pack 4's six dedicated Legendaries are gated behind owning that pack specifically, not Vault Card 4.
